Progress and prospects in magnetic topological materials By Max Planck Society

A new review paper on magnetic topological materials introduces a theoretical concept that interweaves magnetism and topology. It identifies and surveys potential new magnetic topological materials and suggests possible future applications in spin and quantum electronics and as materials for efficient energy conversion.

Claudia Felser, MPI CPfS is most excited about their potential applications in chemistry. She says, "If we can design a magnetic catalyst for water splitting we might be able to change the catalytic properties with an external field, which would allow us to switch on and off catalysis.

The field of magnetic topological materials clearly has and will have impact in both the scientific and technological worlds. https://phys.org/news/2022-03-prospects-magnetic topological-materials.html

CONCEPTUALLY  IMAGINEERED

Knots and Quantum Theory, Edward Witten, 2011. https://www.ias.edu/scholars/witten
In quantum physics, a knot may be regarded as the orbit in spacetime of a charged particle.

In everyday life, a string—such as a shoelace—is usually used to secure something or hold it in place. When we tie a knot, the purpose is to help the string do its job. All too often, we run into a complicated and tangled mess of string, but ordinarily this happens by mistake.

The term “knot” as it is used by mathematicians is abstracted from this experience just a little bit. A knot in the mathematical sense is a possibly tangled loop, freely floating in ordinary space. Thus, mathematicians study the tangle itself.

Another facet of string theory also turns out to be important: extra dimensions. Even though what we want is supposed to be a theory in four spacetime dimensions, it turns out that understanding it properly involves relating it to theories in five or six dimensions. The biggest surprise of all is that even though it can be defined by an explicit recipe with no reference to quantum physics—and that is how it was discovered— Khovanov homology can be understood, possibly much better, using the most modern tools of quantum field theory and string theory. Probably the full story involves physics ideas that we still do not entirely understand even today. https://www.ias.edu/ideas/2011/witten-knots-quantum-theory

By The University of Hong Kong

Via large-scale simulations on supercomputers, a research team from the Department of Physics, the University of Hong Kong (HKU), discovered clear evidence to characterize a highly entangled quantum matter phase—the quantum spin liquid (QSL), a phase of matter that remains disordered even at very low temperatures. This research has recently been published in npj Quantum Materials. The QSL is called a liquid due to its lack of conventional order.
QSLs have a topological order that originates from long-range and strong quantum entanglement.

Computer Science Proof Unveils Unexpected Form of Entanglement  by Mordechai Rorvig   former staff writer. July 18, 2022
"... result demonstrates that entanglement is not necessarily as fragile and sensitive to temperature as physicist thought. And it supports the quantum PCP conjecture, suggesting that even away from the ground energy, a quantum system's energy can remain virtually impossible to calculate."
"It tells us that the thing that seemed unlikely to be true is true," said Isaac Kim of the University of California, Davis. "Albeit in some very weird system."

Predicting the Composition of Dark Matter

The New York University

In the research, conducted with Hongwan Liu, an NYU postdoctoral fellow, Joshua Ruderman, an associate professor in NYU's Department of Physics, and Princeton physicist Mariangela Lisanti, Giovanetti and her co-authors focused on big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN)—a process by which light forms of matter, such as helium, hydrogen, and lithium, are created. The presence of invisible dark matter affects how each of these elements will form. Also vital to these phenomena is the cosmic microwave background (CMB)—electromagnetic radiation, generated by combining electrons and protons, that remained after the universe's formation.

In its research, the team made predictions of cosmological signatures linked to the presence of certain forms of dark matter. These signatures are the result of dark matter changing the temperatures of different particles or altering how fast the universe expands.

Their results showed that dark matter that is too light will lead to different amounts of light elements than what astrophysical observations see.

"Lighter forms of dark matter might make the universe expand so fast that these elements don't have a chance to form," says Giovanetti, outlining one scenario. "We learn from our analysis that some models of dark matter can't have a mass that's too small, otherwise the universe would look different from the one we observe," she adds.

What which cannot be reflected upon appears dark, unknown and unobservable. Frequencies vibrating beyond recognition, i.e. out of resonance, appear darkened and invisible to the senses. Dark energy and dark matter are sustained and made conscious through experience. Dark energy and dark matter are meaningful, purposeful, conceptual and delicately entwined in the Light of consciousness.

Dark matter maintains little light of its own, unable to reflect upon itself it creates the context, i.e. the field/backdrop, for observation and emergence. Dark matter follows its own currents and rides its own waves of vibration pursuing greater material awareness. Dark matter describes the stuff yet to be substantiated, materialized, patterned and designed by means of observation.

Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMBR)

"In cosmology, cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation (also CMBR, CBR, MBR, and relic radiation) is a form of electromagnetic radiation filling the universe. With a traditional optical telescope, the space between stars and galaxies (the background) is pitch black. But with a radio telescope, there is a faint background glow, almost exactly the same in all directions, that is not associated with any star, galaxy, or other object. This glow is strongest in the microwave region of the radio spectrum, hence the name cosmic microwave background radiation. The CMB's discovery in 1964 by radio astronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson was the culmination of work initiated in the 1940s and earned them the 1978 Nobel Prize.

The CMBR is well explained by the Big Bang model – when the universe was young, before the formation of stars and planets, it was smaller, much hotter, and filled with a uniform glow from its white-hot fog of hydrogen plasma. According to the model, the radiation from the sky we measure today comes from a spherical surface called the surface of last scattering. As the universe expanded, both the plasma and the radiation filling it grew cooler. When the universe cooled enough, stable atoms could form. These atoms could no longer absorb the thermal radiation, and the universe became transparent instead of being an opaque fog. The photons that were around at that time have been propagating ever since, though growing fainter and less energetic, since the exact same photons fill a larger and larger universe. This is the source for the term relic radiation, another name for the CMBR

Precise measurements of cosmic background radiation are critical to cosmology, since any proposed model of the universe must explain this radiation. The CMBR has a thermal black body spectrum at a temperature of 2.725 K, thus the spectrum peaks in the microwave range frequency of 160.2 GHz, corresponding to a 1.9 mm wavelength. The glow is almost but not quite uniform in all directions and shows a very specific pattern equal to that expected if the inherent randomness of a red-hot gas is blown up to the size of the universe. In particular, the spatial power spectrum (how much difference is observed versus how far apart the regions are on the sky) contains small anisotropies, or irregularities, which vary with the size of the region examined. They have been measured in detail, and match what would be expected if small thermal fluctuations had expanded to the size of the observable space we can detect today. This is still a very active field of study, with scientists seeking both better data (for example, the Planck spacecraft ) and better interpretations of the initial conditions of expansion.

Although many different processes might produce the general form of a black body spectrum, no model other than the Big Bang has yet explained the fluctuations. As a result, most cosmologists consider the Big Bang model of the universe to be the best explanation for the CMBR. This text uses material from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA

"This visualization of a computer simulation showcases the ‘cosmic web’, the large scale structure of the universe. Each bright knot is an entire galaxy, while the purple filaments show where material exists between the galaxies. To the human eye, only the galaxies would be visible, and this visualization allows us to see the strands of material connecting the galaxies and forming the cosmic web. This visualization is based on a scientific simulation of the growth of structure in the universe. The matter, dark matter, and dark energy in a region of the universe are followed from very early times of the universe through to the present day using the equations of gravity, hydrodynamics, and cosmology. The normal matter has been clipped to show only the densest regions, which are the galaxies, and is shown in white. The dark matter is shown in purple. The size of the simulation is a cube with a side length of 134 megaparsecs (437 million light-years). * Dark matter creates the parameters in which vector patterns of energy in motion emerge, entangle and appear to “materialize” in 3D spacetime. From within the constraints of this framework, a conceptual Quantum Field of Virtual Potential  and a measurable Quantum Field of Virtual Probability entangle and unite to give precedence to a single, more expansive contextual "field" i.e. a larger field of observation, imagination and creativity achieved through greater awareness.

* Potential for change increases as probabilities emerge in response to the attraction of returning to a balance now altered by augmentation. Dark energy might be described as a lack of resonance within its own field and becoming “polarized” while resisting frequencies effecting its own balance. The probability of an idea expanding or contracting is dependent the context (field) where such an event becomes recognized, i.e. focused upon.

"Everything that you do touches another, weaving a strand of time that seeks to be eternally experienced. There are no actions or interactions that are not in Divine proportion to each other, there is only the vibration of ‘all that is’ that seeks to be entwined with itself. Like a tiny pebble that hits a silent lake, ripples are seen and felt from one end to the other. Everything counts and it can be no other way. When a supernova explodes its energy spreads throughout time and space, layering multi-dimensionally into a place that all can be seen and experienced. https://spiritlibrary.com/gillian-macbeth-louthan/everything-counts-it-can-be-no-other-way

The Quantum Field of a Virtually Designed Consciousness

*Their entanglement embraces both the POTENTIAL and the PROBABILITY of giving birth to a new experience, unique pattern, or idea. Within every unique "union", i.e. observation, energy can appear both changing (EIM) and/or unchanging (fixed).  A newly acquired sense of consciousness emerges as result of greater entanglement (attraction) influencing all forms of perception, observation and absorption.

* Energy in motion/turbulence is forever on going, always creating, always changing.

* Change creates the circumstances that ignite further creativity. Design begins anew in an exponential process towards reconfiguration and expansion. Consciousness describes a universal context, Design represents Consciousness in all its potential and probability.

* Turbulence generates the context necessary for change and creativity.

* String theory helps describe energy in motion. Turbulence spawns its entanglement.

* Design describes the transmutation of one form of energy in motion (EIM) into another during periods of transition, transformation, modulation and/or modification.

trans·mu·ta·tion    the action of changing or the state of being changed into another form: the transmutation of the political economy of the postwar years was complete.      Physics the changing of one element into another by radioactive decay, nuclear bombardment, or similar processes.     Biology, mainly historical the conversion or transformation of one species into another.      the supposed alchemical process of changing base metals into gold.

 * Design facilitates the creative transition and transformation of energy in motion from one quantum state/form of entanglement to another (strong emergence). Some attempt to describe this phenomenon in religious overtones, others as another step in a design process.

DESIGN NOTES

* When a line becomes a point a (magnetic) field emerges beyond the framework, and/or dimensions that describe it. All entanglements radiate their own sets of qualities symbolically and are attracted or repulsive by virtue of observation, participation and interpretation.

* Design facilitates its own type and form of attraction by stoking the fire of creativity through entanglement.

* Entanglement brings to display its own unique pattern, geometry and design. Patterns (forms) are generated reflections, i.e. ideas, whose own power should be considered as energy in motion.

* Design thyself within the realm of your own significance, while attributing the same to others.

* Your purpose is to do what you love. Only then will everything have meaning and purpose.

* The concept of knowing your Presence rather than just believing it is crucial in witnessing what it means to be conscious.

* Events and experiences are symbolic in nature and expand exponentially in the form of a designed awareness.

* Every observation is subjectively interpreted, transformed and transfigured by means of a symbolic translation of energy, light and information from one "state" to another.

* Meaning + Purpose = Design

* Lack of synchronization forms a incongruous veil between states of energy in motion, i.e. an imbalance or resonance without coherence.

* Design appears as a patterned network of energy in motion created and patterned to fit and contribute to an energy network created by virtue of our own imagination.

* Time becomes modified, adjusted and categorized when observed in a timeless context.

* Time can be linear, conceptual and at times, magnetic in character.

* Time and space categorize movement into currents and phases linear, cyclical and periodic - energy in motion always changing.

* Together time and space create the dualistic framework required for observation, participation and the creative process. By means of "streaming" stratifications emerge (weak), entangle and may or may not be collectively attracted towards vibratory points and patterns both seen and unseen.

* Patterns of energy in motion are in constant flux, always adapting to situations and/or circumstances (context) observed within the dualistic framework of spacetime.

* Emergence (weak), attraction and entanglement together give rise to a stratification of energy in motion and categorically defined as a dimension.

di·men·sion.  noun  .   1 (usually dimensions) a measurable extent of some kind, such as length, breadth, depth, or height: the final dimensions of the pond were 14 ft. x 8 ft | the drawing must be precise in dimension.      a mode of linear extension of which there are three in space and two on a flat surface, which corresponds to one of a set of coordinates specifying the position of a point.      Physics an expression for a derived physical quantity in terms of fundamental quantities such as mass, length, or time, raised to the appropriate power (acceleration, for example, having the dimension of length × time −2).     2 an aspect or feature of a situation, problem, or thing: sun-dried tomatoes add a new dimension to this sauce. verb [with object] form or shape (something) to particular measurements: the seats and backrests are dimensioned to withstand high loads from items such as unsecured luggage | the tube itself is precisely dimensioned. mark (a diagram) with measurements: the goal is to dimension the drawing clearly so that the parts are built to your specification | (as adjective dimensioned) :  a complete set of dimensioned drawings.
* All that might be indicated or defined as a state of energy in motionis likewise the center of an "observation" in self-awareness.

* Creativity stems from a multidimensional awareness made conscious by design.

* Given precedence within their own set of constraints, the concept of spacetime becomes the context, i.e. context in which all forms of energy in motion observe and participate (CMBR).

* All forms of design are symbolic in essence and therefore demand constant re-cognition. Design encourages change by employing the use of signs, symbols and metaphor as vital in defining Reality.

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao;

The name that can be named is not the eternal name.

The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.

The named is the mother of ten thousand things.

Ever desireless, one can see the mystery.

Ever desiring, one can see the manifestations.

These two spring from the same source but differ in name; this appears as darkness.

Darkness within darkness.

The gate to all mystery.

DESIGN CONSCIOUSNESS

The CMBR creates a context for Consciousness within the parameters of spacetime. The CMBR is a collective description and interpretation of energy in motion. Within these parameters forms and patterns emerge (both weak and strong), are expressed and in turn experienced. Together the Quantum Fields of Virtual Potential and Probability (QFVPP) quantify and qualify the concept of Consciousness by means of Design (sign, symbol, metaphor).

Consciousness can be hypothesized as being the ultimate source of Life, a mystery about which nothing can be said, but in whose expression (in relative vibratory patterning and formation, i.e. entanglement/emergence) can be experienced.

In a sense Consciousness is at the source of the Tao being harbored in its own silence.
